I'm fifty hours into the game.
The criticism this game is taking is ridiculous.

There are outlets that previewed the game early and noticed bugs and glitches and it still released with them. If they really wanted a pass on theses reactions, they should have delayed the game. (or said bethesda made it, since they always get free passes)

Sometimes the problems are so deeply rooted they can't be fixed without breaking the game, or jeopardizing the profitability of the game. Many issues that people have with the faces aren't animation problems. They are basic modeling defects. Many of the female characters have eyesthat have been modeled so badly that they look like they're hyperthyroid. Those sorts of problems aren't cheap or simple fixes. But they aren't game-breaking either.

Modeling defects are some of the easiest things in a game to fix.

Edited by TheArtist: 3/29/2017 9:04:02 PMDepends how it was done. ...and I'm not talking about ALTERING the work that someone else has already done. A lot of the animation and modeling work that is done in AAA games these days is done off of motion-capture work. Like the CGI characters in movies. So any major revisions to that----especially if the intial motion-capture was done poorly----is going to be expensive and time consuming if it has to be done over.

People are having game breaking moments. It's just the animation stuff that's floating to the top because it's funny. Also breaking the game is part of the building process. Sure it sucks to rework something, but at the end of the day, as an artist, it always feels better to release something you can be proud of instead of something that was good enough.

Nothing I've seen or heard of in this game is game-breaking. Just disappointed, over-hyped fans. With expectations that couldn't be met.
-
I mean, it's well deserved.

Disagree. I've played many games that the same problems---or worse---that didn't get nearly as much criticism. Fallout 4 for starters.

I think people expected more from bioware :p
-
Why? Just because?
-
Because the 1st game had better animations.
