We orbit around the sun, comets are trapped in a chaotic and wild ride, a mobile sun sized star that's mobile would be terrifying
a mobile sun sized star that's mobile would be terrifying
Well first of all you said mobile twice, also, our sun is tiny compared to other stars
-
I thought it was the biggest ever
-
Not at all. It's extremely small actually. Look UY Scuti.
-
Ugh. This is why we need astronomy classes in schools.

But the sun also moves through space, so why doesnt it have a tail? Or all other stars for that matter?
-
1) Stars are superheated plasma, which has a few anomalous properties (for example, observation of small identifiers has shown that the sun actually rotates faster at its equator than the poles, rather than a consistent rotation on solid bodies). 2) A comet leaves a "tail" because it sheds reflective materials that catch the light of the sun, thus becoming the distinctive "tail" shape. In a hypothetical dark area, a comet would have absolutely no trail, and when in deep space, the tail is reduced.
