Rose tinted glasses, dude. Don't let nostalgia cloud judgement. Year 1 had just as many issues as Year 2 and 3.

It has nothing to do with nostalgia. Year 1 was far more enjoyable than Year 2 and 3, plain and simple. Also, if you even bothered to read what I said, then you should know me saying so has nothing to do with nostalgia, it is facts that are indisputable coupled with my strong opinions. I have one question for you. Did you even play Year 1? If not then a) why are you even responding and b) I hope you didnt vote in the poll

  • Glad you've come around and realized there is actually more to do in the game now weather you like it or not :D I'm on my phone so I can't reference your post to respond to everything. But basically a lot of what we have now is because of a term called accessibility. That basically means that changes were made in the game in order to make it playable by a wider range of players. Remember must have gally, must have raid weapons, must have xxxx? People that didn't have as many play hours or decent RNG couldn't get into raids. It was the only way to level up at all at the time. Also consider that a lot of players are not on our level with beating raids under leveled. I know, it's actually hard. And because of the community itself and the way the game was made people were dropping the game! So they made changes to make it more accessible. And come on! Everyone did the raid to level up. Yes some people liked it but it was mostly to level up and say we have all the things. Snowflakes if you will. I know I'm hating but I'm one too. you bet your ass my whole raid team had outbreak prime the same day it was discovered. We're all the same in that regard. Man I miss the team, they left the game too. I don't know why it's hard to understand why Bungie took away elemental ledgendary primary's!? They made everything easier, literally everything. To the point that no one used anything else, myself included. I had maybe a couple primary's besides my raid guns because there was no point using anything else. People got kicked from LFG Skolas or night falls for not having them. Once again accessibility rears its head. Except this time so did sandbox diversity. Which there was very little of. We actually have more viable weapons for end game than ever before btw. I got from your posting that you want to be revered for doing your raids. That because you did you should be rewarded with the best stuff. Well there are people posting on here every day that have never done one. Believe it or not they envy us. And WoTM has some good weapons. Genesis chain is good. It's just that auto rifles aren't in the best of spots now. Ex machinama is a great sniper for PvE. Chaos dogma is pretty much a black hammer vs devil walkers and Sepiks lol. I'm not trying to refute your statements as much as I am trying to get you to understand the bigger picture. Which just like the yr3 having more to do, you don't need to like it, just understand it. They want people to play their game more. People that play want to level up without being forced to raid their balls off. Bungie's job is to make those things happen. Like it or not it's how it is.

  • If you didnt have a raid weapon or couldnt get into a raid in Year 1, that is your fault completely. It was a simple matter to go on Lfg and find a raid team willing to carry you. In my original post I said you couldnt be underleveled. However, I ran out of letters for my post so I had to cut things out. One of those things was that if someone in the group had a Gally, he could more than make up 4 you in damage. Your odds of getting in were massively increased if you knew how to do the raid. I myself looked up all parts of the raid before finding a team, and since I knew what to do, it wasnt hard to find one. I did WoTM when I started Year 3 on my first day. I did normal at 350 or so light, because I knew what to do from Youtube. I've met people in Year 3 who say they've been playing for months and still havent done it. I ask them if they know how to do the raid. They have no clue. I ask them if they've Lfg'd for a team. They either say they haven't, or they have and no one will carry them because they dont know what to do. It was the same BS in Year 1. Plenty of people carried in Year 1, not being able to do the raid is inexcusable.

  • We're more hardcore than most. Crazy as it sounds I know guys who game and don't look up games on YouTube at all. I've had friends that won't try LFG on their own. Others that only want to play with friends or friends of friends. I tell them that's their prerogative. Also none of those guys have ever been on a forum. But a lot like them have or tweet Bungie etc. I'll agree with you that if they can't raid at this point with how easy it is to find a group and your not under leveled by default so it's not that bad then it's their own fault. Though some are super casual and have jobs, kids, and life's ill give them that. At that point it's about choices. But I support them being able have the ability to more than in the past and don't see it as a problem with that. I won't hate on anyone who hasn't done it. Just those who come in here and complain and get told what to do. And yeah I use to get into Crota hard as a 30 and 31 because I had gally, which I actually got from a hard deathsinger and some dude rage quit because he was mad lol. It was stupid powerful. How shocking it got tuned down a bit!

  • Yes, I literally played the entirety of Year 1. I read the entire thing and I think I'm just going to go over the things that I don't agree with. You said that Crucible was balanced in year 1, which isn't true. Vanilla destiny was ruled by auto rifles, they were so good and easy to use that no other primary could compete. Let's also not forget the six month reign of Thorn and TLW and hand cannons in general. People say that meta was "fine and fun" but during it's time period, the forums were littered with posts begging to nerf exotic hand cannons. It was a shit show. Nightfalls were more or less on the same difficulty they are now. The RTO feature did add a bit of tension, but elemental primaries made Nightfalls a cake walk. The removal of the blue flames was stupid though. And the rewards? Dude, do you even remeber getting ascendant shards as a reward for nightfalls and raids? The reward system was incredibly wonky, that's how #forever29 came to be. HoW did add a bit of relevancy to content though, with the addition of Etheric light. But soon, all content will soon be relevant again. It should've always been relevant in the first place though. We will arguably have much more to do now than we did in year one, since we have 4 raids. Speaking of raids, you also go on to say that Raids were harder in year one. VoG isn't difficult at all if you know the mechanics, and Crota? Come on. Be real here man. Year 1 was a very fun time for Destiny because everything was shiny and new. It was an experience that cannot be replicated. But to say that it was simply the "end all be all" is just far fetched to me. Imo, the best years in Destiny have been all three. They all have had their ups and downs.

You are completely wrong. Nightfalls were far harder in Year 1. There is no comparison. There may have been elemental primaries, but whenever there was a burn, not only did you get a damage increase, but so did the enemies. Having burns made it even harder in some cases. So no, elemental primaries werent that big a factor in making nf easy. As for saying that auto rifles ruled the Crucible and the Forums being filled with nerf hand cannon cries, those were all noobs. Autos werent OP in the slightest. The Last Word, Thorn and Vex could easily equal autos at close to mid range. Not to mention, if you held back outside of the auto sweet spot, they wouldnt stand a chance against you with The Messenger, The Scholar, Mida, Oversoul Edict, Praedyths Timepiece, Etc. The same was true about hand cannons. I beat them all the time with The Messenger by playing the game correctly. I rarely touched the Thorn, and I went flawless all the time. I used The Last Word every here and there, but my main gun was The Messenger

  • "Whenever there was a burn, not only did you get a damage increase, but your enemies did as well." It still works that way. In fact, they nerfed the damage multiplier for guardians when there was a burn in Nightfalls when TTK released. It's personal opinion. Year 1 had a ton of problems. I mean, a ton. Imo, it was a good year, but I don't think it was the best.

  • It is opinion. I just happen to think yours is completely wrong. And you saying VoG is easy if you know the mechanics, thats how it is for all the raids, so thats irrelevant. Anyway, I still believe VoG and Crota sre far harder than WoTM and Kings Fall.
