I wonder if the logo at the bottom left with 16 in it refers to that country's version of our ESRB ratings. Basically saying 16 and up or for us rated "T" for teen. If so, there goes my dream of Destiny 2 getting a mature rating.

  • Destiny always had a PEGI16 rating, this is nothing new.

  • How long has Call of Duty had an M rating? How long has it been filled with immature idiots and children? The rating won't change anything.

  • I think its more about what kind of story elements you can add. With a mature rating it opens up a lot more options.

  • No rating is enough to cover Eris morn getting her shrieker out if that's what you're hoping for.

  • At first, if they did that I would have been pissed. But then I remembered: What a second... I turn 15 when it comes out! (Which is like USA's version of M)

  • The only thing an M-rating would achieve is a restricted playbase.
In before "but i -blam!-ing hate12-year olds"
You can have a "gritty" story with a T-rating.

  • Wait, what!? Lids play this game? Here's me thinking I couldn't be more useless in crucible but I'm pretty sure a bin lid tea bagged me on blind watch the other day.

Plenty of parents actually pay attention to the rating of a video game. Making D2 M-rating is not fair those young players and would just alienated a part of the community.

  • The 16 is the PEGI rating. A European version of the American ESRB. "PEGI 16 - This rating is applied once the depiction of violence (or sexual activity) reaches a stage that looks the same as would be expected in real life. More extreme bad language, the concept of the use of tobacco and drugs and the depiction of criminal activities can be content of games that are rated 16." PEGI 16 is the second highest category. PEGI 18 is basically a violence level "that would make the viewer feel a sense of revulsion." (i.e. Grand Theft Auto type of violence)

Urgh, you want Guardians banging Fallen prostitutes, The Speaker dealing drugs and Frames being retasked as torture-bots? Sounds like ass.

  • Mature rated games are usually allowed more freedom in story telling. For example, it is hard to make a T rated game where your enemies are people and not monsters. If it was M, the Concordat could be an enemy and we could fight humans in the story

  • They could still do cutscenes of humans fighting humans. They showed Jolder blowing herself up. Sacrificing herself obviously but still. To me, a game only deserves the most mature rating if you're constantly ripping of heads with your bare hands or something. Unless Toland comes back as a Hive Knight-Guardian hybrid, I don't see that happening in Destiny.

  • You want to include sex scenes? There is already enough explicit death and destruction. Why do people like all the gory detalis so much? The thrill of a live execution with blood gushing all over the place?
