I think it needs a slight damage buff. Maybe increase the damage at close range, but reduce the dmg falloff distance.
They mentioned in the stream that it's meant to "melt" enemies at close range. It doesn't. Not even (universal) remotely.

It got a damage buff. What it needs is accuracy. Believe me. It melts if your lucky enough for your shots to land where you aim (presumably the head). It doesn't shoot where you aim. It shoots randomly. So buff to accuracy and hit detection 👍🏻✊🏻
