I know they've updated it but at launch there was literally no point to the game besides farm to build things to make farming easier.

There was much more promised than what we got. It's not a terrible game by any stretch of the word, it's just that we were promised so, so much more. It's not the game it was hyped to be. Wasn't worth the original 60$ price tag. I'd buy it for like 15$.
