Literally practice makes you perfect. Also dont give up just because someone beats you. Try to find a character that you are comfortable with and grow from that.

I get aggravated when my internet goes full potato. It seems like blocking is impossible

Are you talking about blocking or guard breaking? Blocking is pretty simple. You said you enjoy the peacekeeper, the assassin type characters can block forever like the other characters. You have to refresh the block. The blocking only lasts a couple seconds. Countering Guard Break is a little more difficult due to the fact that it kind of go into the direction of the guy with better connection. As soon as you see that red broken shield tap your guard break. Dont spam it, if you spam it the game will now and your counter will fail.
