So... I heard that Destiny 2...
I don't believe everything that I read but I do believe that devs leak info to get real response to what they are working on...
I read that D2 is going to expand on an already broken story..? And that at least some of the enemy races will be recycled? And that some or parts of current maps will also be recycled?
IMHO we need to start over... all of it. New story [same universe], new enemy races, all new guardians, weapons, classes, gear. I feel like expanding on "the only game in history that needed a lore patch" is a mistake.

The lore is so good I feel like a prequel could be really fun. About the time when hunters and warlocks were starting to branch off from Titans you could go help shin malphur hunt yor and participate in the twilight gap and just a bunch of shit that happened in the lore maybe see what went down on the moon too during the great disaster too.

1 ReplyCan you elaborate on what's broken about the story? I know the story is lacking in detail for sure, in other words there is hardly a story at all. But what makes it broken? The lore itself seems to be highly detailed and leaves a lot to work with in term of story telling.

3 RepliesA start over would not work. There have been enemies and plot threads set up since year one that have yet to be answered, and what would you do? Abandon them? The vex, who's motives are still unclear, the hive and taken, that have a new leader that we don't know about, the cabal, who are planning, the fallen, that are still scheming and still gathering their strength. Osiris - where? What? WHY?! FOR GODS SAKES, THE NINE?!?! THE GODDAMN SCARABS?!?!!?!!?¿¡?¡ SAVATHUN AND XIVU ARATH?!? You can't just leave plot threads hanging like that and questions unanswered. And more still need to be answered. So no, a complete plot reboot makes absolutely no sense.

8 RepliesAs fun as that'd be, I'd have to disagree. The lore is just fine and I'm having a hard time understanding why some people find it confusing. And besides that, if Bungie did a reboot, it'd throw everything out of whack:[spoiler]The vex are one of, if not the largest driving force of this game. You can't exactly just, get rid of them. You also can't really get rid of the hive because their sole goal is to eat the traveler. For them to suddenly pack it up and leave is unnatural, at best. You could maybe get rid of the cabal or fallen, but you'd have to have one hell of an explanation as to why they left.[/spoiler]

1 ReplyWell that's kinda how it's meant to be considering how our characters are meant to be taken with us through all 10 years, the only way to move forward is to continue the guardians story but do a better job at the story telling and character development. A lot of people would quit entirely if they knew everything they did in Destiny was for nothing, and everything in the next Destiny would be for nothing, this isn't CoD where you can just hit the reset button every year. This game is meant to follow one character, you, the savior of the galaxy. You can't be someone else every couple years.
