I was onboard until the ending twist about the language. Beyond stupid.
Visuals were great.
Aliens were great.
Wish it had been abit more realistic toward the end.

Contact is still the best movie about alien contact. Lol

Eh, when most of them come down to either: A) Pretentious, pseudo - intellectual nonsense Or B) Action packed, nonsensical cluster-blam!- of more "fi" than "sci" It's not exactly hard for Contact to achieve such a thing...

Do you read sci fi books on the topic?
-
Edited by Upperclass Bum: 2/15/2017 6:24:15 AMPfft... Reading...
Nah, but there are a few I'd like to read though. Like Dune and the Dead Space books. I don't think Dune is about alien contact per se, but it's still.something I'd like to read.
Do you like military sci fi?

Eh, depends. I thought Edge of Tomorrow was pretty enjoyable, although it's pretty close to being in that "b" position previously noted. I still haven't read the source material, but it's on my list.

You might like Star Carrier by Ian Douglas. He's very up to date on the science behind space combat. https://www.amazon.com/Earth-Strike-Star-Carrier-Book/dp/0061840254

I'll be sure to check it out.

That's true. I really was hoping Arrival would be the one. A serious science feel. And it was up until the end.
