If the person is acting like an idiot and ignoring basic facts, yes I need to call him an idiot. Its not insulting, its bringing awareness.

There are scenario that insulting is acceptable. One scenario that insulting is not acceptable is when you put a stupid point and people prove you wrong so you insult them, because that is just childish.
