I would blame the government over the military. The government makes the decisions to wage war, they just use the military to do so.

The military is VOLUNTARY. You don't have to join. It's like blaming the bank for the bank robbery.

The military is voluntarily but when you join you agree to take orders from a superior officer without question, meaning when they say jump, you say how high? Before you go knocking the American military over that realize that every military around the world is like that. So when an order comes down from the government you follow that order without question, you have to go on the assumption that what they are telling you to do is all on the level and legal, because that's what you were trained to do.

That's not an accurate comparison. Joining is voluntary but they still have to take orders. A better comparison would be if a construction crew was told to lay a foundation in the wrong location, you blame the foreman, not the crew.

Taking orders had nothing to do with iq, it had to do with discipline and being part of the job. The military never made the decision to invade Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam or to enter into two world wars. They were told to go fight because that's there job.
