Forza 6 is more of a racing game, whilst forza horizon series is more open world driving, with more off road and street racing.

Forza 6 is more of a simulation while Forza Horizon 3 is more of an arcade style game. It really comes down to personal preference but Forza Horizon 3 is superb.
