5. Strong support for freedom of speech and opposition to censorship of any kind
I see this becoming a staple of the Democratic Party as the Republicans begin to move from Reagan era neoliberalism to fascism. This tends to be the splitting issue between parties in despot countries. People of many political ideologies that believe in democracy will band behind the Democrats while those against democratic and liberal ideas get behind a more racist nationalist Republican Party.
Could be totally wrong. This is ultimately unpredictable. It also means the Democratic Party would be made up of your Bernie Sanders types to conservative minded John McCain like people.

Meh. The Republican Party still is the typical neoconservative Party it has been since the 80s, but their social policy is as reactionary as ever; with the past convention in June establishing things like porn being a "health crisis." If the American people were actually aware as to what their political parties actually stand for, they'd abandon them en masse. If the GOP wants to survive, I think they should take a libertarian approach to politics. The Democratic Party is currently undergoing it's own change, towards a social democratic entity, as I've pointed out.

I don't entirely agree. Reaganism is certainly still a strong part of the Republican Party. But it is ceding ground to Trumpism. And yes I think there are parts like social conservatism that are still part of the party and will remain consistent. I had thought Ron Paul was the vanguard to what the Republican Party would become. But I don't think that's looking like the case. We're seeing much more of a big government, protectionist, nationalist anti-liberalism GOP than what Ron Paul envisioned the party being.

Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders are two of the best U.S. politicians this country nas had in decades.
