There is no good reason to legalize the mass hunting of predators.

What happens if there is an overpopulation of wolves in an area. The ecosystem is ruined.

The number of prey is what controls the number of predators... if their numbers get too high for the ecosystem to sustain then fewer pups are born, and more of them wander off to find more healthy ecosystems. This might come as a shock to you, but nature has a way of taking care of itself... It got along perfectly fine for millions of years before people came into the picture, and it will continue to get along fine long after humans are gone.
