In my ~hour of experience, the game is horrible when you're starting out. All I'm doing is hitting trees, pooping and dying. And as you go forward, my perception is that it is a continued grind.

Edited by Joebomination: 1/23/2017 5:50:05 PMI would probably try to get a thatch foundation and a bed down as soon as possible. That way if you die you still have a spawn close to where you died and you can possible retrieve your body. If your on a pvp server don't even bother with making a full thatch house. Thatch is so easy to break into you can bet any fresh spawn will try to break into it if you built one. Once you unlock wood house I would next surround your house with spike walls. If it's late and you have to go offline go ahead and don't worry about a Dino door just surround your base.

Learn the basic storage box. Keep crafting it till you can craft rafts. Keep crafting rafts till your at a level where you can settle and make a base.
