Bungie has a concept artist job opening and I was wondering...

They have an opening and I want to try and apply. However, I live in Florida and don't know if I have move all the way to Washington in the event I get the job. I'm not saying I will get it but I'm considering all my options and possibilities. Is it possible to work from home or do I need to move to work in the studio? • Do you have a Virtual Presence Machine? If you have a VPM then probably have to be in for very important meetings only.

    • Hello Cyan Hawk, First, Thresh is best support. You made a wise decision with that piece of art. Next, onto the application itself, send your resume, cover letter, and relevant art portfolio to the email careers@bungie.com. Be sure to answer all of the questions posted in their positon posting listed here. The application process can take some time so be patient and wait for them to get back to you. If you do not receive the automated response, let me know as last time I uploaded my application I received a similar issue and I can try to get you more direct contact should the normal means fail. Best of luck to you and keep up the work. Be sure to include all of your art as well as time stamps so they can see your progression and adaptation to style.

        • Do you have any sample art? Mind if I take a look? I want to be a storywriter eventually, if Science doesn't work out. I've dreamed of writing a fantastic story, because I''m good at creating concepts but not actually drawing them. I love story writing and try to better myself. Some days I think it'll never happen. Anyway, I wish you well in your ventures, and if you get the job, I can't wait to see what happens!!

That would probably require moving, if they didn't expect you to relocate for that then they'd probably just contract the work elsewhere

You'll no doubt have to work there. Contact them directly for any information you need. Also, this belongs in #Help.

I feel you could as you could just digitally do the work and send it. But most likely not

            • Apply and if given the opportunity during the interview, negotiate. I have an aunt that does design work for a New York based company and works from her home in South Carolina. She does email and mail her designs often. Granted, she did work for them for a few years in New York before moving though.

                • None of us have the answer for that since we don't actually work there. You need to ask Bungie directly. In the event that you don't get it, don't sweat it. There are plenty of opportunities out there for you. If you don't have any experience in the field I would start trying to work for indie developers. Build your way up. Good luck!

                      • Don't they fly you out if they want an interview? You'd be better off asking someone at Bungie for the answer

                        • Bungie is the kind of company that cares as much about who you are as how good you are at your job. I don't think you've ruined your chances with this post, but do what everyone else is probably recommending right now. Contact them, not us. Take the initiative and be ready to prove yourself if the opportunity arises.
