Go with a 470, 480, or 1070, with whatever fits your budget.

But do not get the 3gb version, it's not gonna be enough in the long run.[spoiler]somewhere was that gta v uses approx 3,3gb of gpu memory, bigger & dense worlds more etc.[/spoiler] Gtx 1050 ti, is power efficient, budget card, better than rx460, but not even close to rx470. Did some research last week, bc I'm also upgrading my gpu soon.[spoiler]still rocking my dinosaurus hd 7870, approx same as rx460, but older, and only with 2gb[/spoiler]

I made the mistake of getting the 1080 Founder's Edition back in October. That thing runs hotter than my GTX 570 Thermi card from 2012.

The 480 is better than the 1060. Better performance with vulkan, and new drivers are already starting to give it an edge on the 1060, and AMD drivers get way better over time.

Edited by Pahvi: 1/11/2017 1:26:24 AMi was really impressed how much vulkan helped with Doom. Runs stable 60 now, 1080p low-slightly medium details, was struggling to keep above 50 with opengl. But with opengl, 1060 is very competitive. And who can say for sure that nvidia can't make improvements with vulkan.
