Good thing bungie is absolutely miserable at writing, because no one tells you how bad shit is, and nothing's happened to the city, let alone earth. It's not like SIVA is a threat. It's not like the taken where a threat. Crota wasn't a threat and neither was the black hole
Because none of em would've done Jack shit to the city anyways, cuz if they really wanted to, they would have long before your character was even born.

Honestly numerous sources have come forth and even bungie has tacitly acknowledged that there was a huge extremely intricate story that was presented by their head writer. That story was then scrapped at the literal last minute when executives decided it would be too complex to appeal to their target demographic of 10 to 16 year olds, leading to their head writer packing up his bags and walking out the door holding a middle finger over his shoulder. So they had good writing. What they lacked is executives who weren't assholes.

Edited by startrekker96: 1/7/2017 9:11:37 PMYes, Bungie are terrible writers for not revealing the entire story in the first chapter. I don't suppose it occurred to you that Bungie has plans for the City in future installments of the game, and that the only reason the City is still standing is because Guardians fight to keep it that way?

No, they aren't assholes for not revealing stuff early, they're assholes for not revealing shit ever. You don't know what you did in the vault of glass, how you did it or why. You don't know what Crota's motivations where or how his sword is so powerful, you don't know who the -blam!- the speaker is or just about anything about anyone in the tower or the whole city other than "hey. Me tell u go kill shit. Go kill shit." Then you go and do another shitty pointless mission where you just follow one linear path to the objective fighting the same exact enemies you did last time, and there's no moral middle ground, everyone is just a completely evil asshole.

I'll tell you who the Speaker is, Evil in its dilluted form.

Edited by startrekker96: 1/8/2017 1:17:11 AMIf you think that Bungie hasn't revealed anything, you only have yourself to blame. Must it be spelt out and pointed out with bright flashing neon signs? No. Considering that most of the enemies in the game want to kill you and the rest of your ilk, that should be motivation enough to kill them - you expect a "moral middle-ground", with monolithic beings that want to destroy everything you are and were? Chances are, you're playing the wrong type of game - your character is a soldier. More often than not, soldiers follow orders. If those orders are to kill those who attack you, you kill. Crota's motivations are simple - he wants to devour the Light, and rule our star system, the same with any of the Ascendant Hive - who, by the way, are completely evil assholes. If you read the Grimoire, everything is in there. Unless you'd rather be lazy and demand that Bungie put the encyclopedia of lore in the game, of course.
" Kill bad guy alien cuz he mad and try to destroy world cuz he in bad mood. I used my caveman voice right there because, like the story of destiny, its underdeveloped and hard to understand." your character literally has no say in anything, you say like four things in the whole game. He's just sorta a puppet for the lazy ass mo-blam!-ers in the tower tell to do their busy work.
If you read the Grimoire, everything is in there. Unless you'd rather be lazy and demand that Bungie put the encyclopedia of lore in the game, of course.
Okay... that's just a completely shit decision to make. Imagine the dumb mofucker that walked into Activision and was like "hey uhh what if we just had an intern type some cryptic shit onto a keyboard so we don't have to pay a storyboard artist/writer and cut the costs in half!" And actually got away with that shit. A game without a story, ESPECIALLY a bungie game, without a story, isn't a very good game. Star Wars has expanded universe beyond the movies and games and shit, but they still have enjoyable stories. Destiny the complete opposite of that. You just read the story on your phone and then play the game just to see some of the more boring shit happen. It's like a shitty lab thing you had to do in eighth grade, you do some pointless shit that takes five minutes then spend two days researching the cool shit you didn't get to do.
