Well they better hurry up to explain all this shit because when destiny 2 launches it will be year 4 and only 6 years left on activisions contract
English

It's a 10 year minimum, I hope people realise that contracts can easily be extended if the companies so choose, which is highly likely considering the games popularity.
-
6 years is a very long time. I'm sure everything will find an end within that time.
-
3 years is a very long time to drip feed 1 year of content
-
1/3 is already gone to release 1 years worth of content 😎
-
They have a foot hold now. They'll be able to give us a more complete story. Rise of Iron is proof of this.
-
Rise of iron is proof of what? That Bungie can wrote a half-assed story on command?
-
They pulled a complete story from nothing that even tied up a loose end from vanilla. That was only in development for under a year. Destiny 2 has had a good long time to be built, so I can only assume the story will be well done.
-
They had teasers for Destiny in 07 and look how destiny's story turned out. 99% removed from the game and relegated almost entirely to a small portion of the app.

Edited by Fal Chavam: 1/2/2017 5:08:04 AMYes, but you're forgetting their studio was in a state of absolute chaos when they had to scrap their game deadly close to the release date.
Then they didn't have enough time to get their studio get their studio in order because they had to try their damned best to make another game that was as great as the scrapped one in a forth of the time.
It's been three years now. They have their things in order. The story has a path. They're making sure we get more and more story with each release.

The main story has not progressed at all. Weve done nothing to push back the darkness and we never will. The story of destiny will never progress because Bungie has set themselves up with a convenient status quo such that as long as the status quo is maintened, they can always make sequels and dlc
-
But we have though. A majority of what we've done has pushed back the darkness. The hive, as an entirety, is a pawn of the darkness. In killing their king, we've pushed them back hard. By extension, we've pushed back the darkness. We've also destroyed the black heart and the mind that was trying to summon it back. That heart was made by the final queen of shapes herself. I doubt she's happy about that.

Complete story? You mean explaining lore and giving us one good concept (Siva mutants) and ditching it after an hour and a half? Sounds like house of wolves more or less... HoW: 5 Story missions RoI: 5 Story missions Oh...
-
Well, yeah. That's kinda what a story does. It builds the universe you're playing in. As for concepts that came out of RoI, the list is very long so I'll list a few. The story of the iron lords and some tales from their days. We learned about the Technology (created by the Bray family) that allowed our golden age to flourish. We learned that guardians are not naturally called to defend the traveler. And about the splicers, just because the replication chamber was destroyed doesn't mean they're done and out. They could take a SIVA sample and find a way to replicate it themselves. They still have a fairly large supply of SIVA, and given that SIVA is just technology, Fallen scientists could take it apart and figure out what makes it tick. Granted HoW and RoI had the same amount of missions, but RoI had a bunch of quests that each gave interesting bits of story.
