Problem being you shot at him with him blatantly having the shield. Shoot next to your feet or closer to you so he runs towards it while you're backing off. He'll either stop running and thus no shield or run into it and no shield.
Bad call on your part, and as you implied you may have forced their hand with the super.
Treat people sprinting at you like a jet. Not always wise sure but run towards them. They'll have to stop turn around and pick back up again. Of course turn to face them just in case they are actually smart enough to not continue to chase should you succeed in that.

I still have a problem with golden gun (and keyhole). And arc blade. And lance nova bomb. And armor piercing rounds.

Always hits want you obviously wouldn't, and just sucks. Lance bomb you can blow up near him and he would die, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

Well I can understand it taking the damage if it was hit directly, if it's off to the side of the shield yeah its stupid. Which is weird because nova bomb and fist of havoc have killed me through walls and objects plenty.
