There are so many divergent stories in Destiny and they've been seedingb them from the beginning. Some are obvious, such as Ahamkara, we claw at any scraps of info we can get on them, and others less so. Such as Lysander, he's not new, but it's becoming more and more apparent he's not gone.

Definitely, it excites me how a character from the lore may be a main antagonist in a future update for Rise of Iron. The story of Shin Malpher(might have spelled that incorrectly) and Dredgon Yor was slowly spoon fed to the community as the game released new content.
