One of the guys I met who is involved with paid Carries, was a really nice guy, and we started hanging out just playing casual crucible together. He admitted to me that the company that he worked for, was started after the change made in year two, to the structure of trials, due to it being easier to manipulate. He also admitted that his company alone, employed over 1000 players, and within their world it was competitive.

This is the craziest thing I've ever read on these forums.
Please provide proof so I can report said company to bungie and you should've done so as well as soon as that steamer mentioned that.
Which I still don't even believe is true because if it was, it would've been pointed out long ago by the community and bungie would've dealt with them.
They've posted on a previous trials related thread and Cozmo replied saying that bungie does not tolerate or condone someone being paid to carry people through trials.
I'm sorry, but I don't believe this what so ever.

I do not believe, that you do not believe...stop trying to rope-a-dope.

Edited by Durandal: 12/25/2016 4:10:51 PMI've seen worse, I've seen streamers saying they are playing or doing carries for extra life, and the money donated to them will go to the charity. Only problem is, they had people donating to them directly instead of to a donation/fundraising page that is made by extra life. And as a guild leader I can check up on things, these people were committing fraud by taking money for charity and keeping it for themselves. So far, I know of one that is actually being brought up on charges for this.

Jesus... That's plain sick.
-
Have you seen ebay?
-
bungie will not do anything to the pid carriers be they single or a company, it is great advertisment for them and why they havn't shut it down earlier.
-
Yes they would. I have seen paid services in other large games and the developers will try to shut that down as fast as they can. Regardless of advertisement, it is illegal. It is within the terms and services that people cannot make profits off of bungie, you can go read that for yourself. They're not going to sit here and let everything slide. It's impossible for them to completely rid the community of paid carries, but I'm damn sure willing to bet if there was an actual company that existed that offered paid carries, they would shut that down. I know bungie is stupid, but they're not that stupid.
-
What??? Where have you been?
-
Look, I'm not going on about this anymore. Done talking about it. I don't support carries but there's no way to end them unless you take trials and raids out of the picture. It will always be a service that people are looking to get paid for.
-
if they were going to shut it down, they would have already..
-
Okay, again, it is impossible for them to find every single person offering paid carries. You're always, for as long as trials exists in Destiny, always going to see someone advertising paid carries.
-
it may be impossible to get them all, but, there are those out there week in week out raking in the cash.. you would think that after over a year of this those guys would be shut down if it was going to happen.. it hasn't.. its advertising for the game and so bungie allows it, even though the end user agreement says it is against the rules.. the only one that can enforce those rules is bungie.. and they aren't and won't be.. sad.. but, true.

Believe what you want.

Bro Google destiny flawless, top of the search page is a huge website for paid destiny flawless run with several packages. Set up like a vacation site lol. Open your eyes
-
That is not a company, that is a website domain owned probably by a few streamers. Big difference. I seriously don't think people understand what I meant by this reply. I'm not going to sit here and try to make it even more clear. You can read the other replies I have to OP. I am not supporting paid carries, I want to see this actual company that OP was speaking of.

Edited by sharkhunter81: 12/23/2016 6:12:50 PMDid you know a company can be owned and operated by only ONE individual. It doesn't have to be a -blam!-ing Walmart for it to be a company.

Go on twitch and you'll see smaller streamers guaranteeing flawless cards with a "donation" of said amount of dollars. I believe eBay also has postings for flawless trials as well as websites. They do exist, I don't know how frequently they are used though. Regardless of all of that, trials should remain as it is. The further you go in your card, the harder it gets. Eliminating all the flawless players into a bracket would then lead trials to becoming easier and easier as the week went on. Some teams who could never make it, and shouldn't make it, would all of a sudden be going flawless. Trials isn't built around casuals or extremely low skilled players. It's for the better players, it's end game pvp. Should the raid get easier and easier throughout the week so bad raiders can attain the end goal? No.
-
why do you care if players would be split into another bracket? if you are a good player and manage to go flawless you would be split into that bracket and your game would stay competitive or do you prefere to stay in easy games with only the last game of your card to be challanging? fact is that trials was not made for casuals in mind but it was not meant to be a money making zest pool of elite players and casual players with deep pockets eather. trials was meant to attrackt a large player group to slug it out in a competitive but fair environment. truth is it is so far from that. that for a change is needed to make it a fun competitive game mode again and eliminate all the black market methods of winning a flawless trials card... or are you making money off it too?

I'm fully aware that these carries exist all over the place. I'm skeptical because of the person saying there's a specific company. If streamers are getting paid by direct donations, why would a 3rd party company need to be involved ? I just want to know about this company because I don't believe it exists. Theres no purpose behind having one. I see no benefits of its existence. I'm not saying trials needs to be changed. There's no hope for it. As long as streamers can do account recoveries it won't matter.

Edited by Synge_X: 12/22/2016 11:49:45 PMI realize that what I'm saying challenges your current paradigm of thinking, but I have no incentive to lie and make shit up. It is completely against the rules of these forums to name and shame, so I'm not risking naming players, on top of the fact that several of these players have become friends of mine. They work for a guy who runs an LLC and even pays taxes on his earnings for the services provided. If you think about it, there really is no way to regulate these actions outside of making changes in game to curb or stop it.
-
You can contact bungie outside of the forums. I want proof. If you're not going to report the streamers and the company, I will gladly. Why would any streamer partner with a company when they recieve direct donations from viewers ?
-
Team effort to do carries. Think about it. If they get enough people to band tougher that get 2 things. 1. They get matched with each other. Allowing for set-up wins on a card. Shared profits means win or lose you still get payed. 2. It allows them to control the game mode. If they can't beat you they ddos you. Effectively locking you out unless you pay to have them on your team. If you really don't believe the scum are working with each other you need to get your head checked.
-
Most streamers are not going to sit there and ddos on a live stream. Yes, streamers work together to do single carries, I get that. What you don't get is I'm trying to figure out this supposed company.
-
why wouldn't they.. you don't see them performing the ddos..
-
Perhaps I didn't make that clear, two different distinct forms of paid carries. A. Carries via donations B. Direct pay for carry. I asked him once, but he never gave me the website or company name unless I was ready to pay(which implicates us both at that point), our friendship began with a debate about paid carries and it was a strange subject. He appreciated that I wasn't scheming for a carry at all times and would play with his account recoveries so that we could relax in the crucible(his ELO was really high). I've only seen him once since the ban, and when we talked, it wasn't like "hey, let me get the name of your company real quick, so I can report them". It's cool that you think I'm a liar, but to demand proof when it's not that simple is dismissive. I know my experience is real, I have nothing to prove and nothing to lose... You however, have the fragile sense that everything is FINE and anything that threatens that "safe space" is a lie, to lose. But the reality is that there is more going on than you think, and it's going to take awareness to make a change.
-
Okay, paid carries and donations are basically the same thing. Streamers often use the term donations as a cover up to avoid negative backlash. Not sure why you even mentioned that. I went flawless 3 or 4 times in year one and decided I was no longer going to support that game type because paid carries existed then as well like you mentioned. Which is exactly why I continue not to play it. I didn't enjoy trying hard while other players are paying for an easier time. I think you're assuming I don't mind paid carries existing. Which is false if you can tell by now. I just wanted to figure out this company and see proof that it exists before I moved on to the main point of the thread. If you feel so negatively towards paid carries, why didn't you simply ask. I know I would've had I been the one in that situation. I just don't understand that. Also, you need to understand that as long as carriers can do account recoveries, paid carries will plague trials. You're two suggestions wouldn't solve much no offense. And paid carries exist more because people started seeing the potential revenue, it was really the changes to matchmaking. Bungie also is fully aware that these kind of things exist. Tldr; trials and paid carries is a lost cause.
