I have to disagree. Ghandi, Jesus, Martin Luther King and others weren't corrupt yet they had loads of power through great moral influence.
English
-
You say that like Ghandi was a good person
-
Gandhi and his nukes!
-
Ghandi & MLK were given it, they didn't earn it by being smart n' shit. Jesus doesn't count in this because he is God.
-
Actually they did earn it through moral influence. People liked their peaceful ideas, so the people supported them, thus giving them power.
-
They didn't have power. People just liked them.
-
If people follow you, you have power.
-
Yes and if someone nukes you and your followers that "power" is useless. Sticks and stones can't beat a nuke.
-
But they didn't have nukes when Jesus was around.
-
We can't even use Jesus as an example. He was God in human form. Nobody else is or ever will be like him.
-
Then use Ghandi.
-
Nukes weren't around but if a powerful government wanted to they could have obliterated his entire movement relatively easily. Being dead makes it hard to use that "power"
-
Then Ghandi would have been a martyr. That rallies even more to his cause. Also, I doubt the British had plans to kill most of Indias population.
-
Doesn't matter if they planned to or not. Point is they could have if they had wanted to.
-
This is high school stuff man. They had tons of power. Just do some research and educate yourself instead of arguing with me.
-
Also don't insult intelligence when you have no clue who you're talking to. I just have a different understanding of power than you. I have far more education on Christianity than you will ever have and have had my fair share in basic history. I know plenty about those guys. Jesus isn't a good example because he was a perfect being. Nobody else is or ever will be.
-
You must not know what power is if you don't think they had it
-
Edited by Evskii: 12/22/2016 6:11:41 AMPower is controlling the fate of millions of people and having a ton of money. Last time I checked they didn't have nukes.
-
The fact that you view nukes as power says don't know what true power is brother. What you just described was fear and greed. True power isn't evil nor cash made.
-
That's fine if that's what you think but that's not what I think. If we are talking about power in a spiritual sense then ya I 100% agree with you. But in the world we live in the guy with the biggest stick has the power and as of right now nukes are the biggest stick. That's why the US hasn't been annihilated.
-
Truth. And yes in a way I was talking in that aspect. I see power in a way that makes a large amount people feel self motivation to grow within themselves .I just feel like with the things you've just noted that we've tricked ourselves into thinking that's power. But your right as you say those are my views
-
All I know is dying makes exerting your power significantly harder. And a nuke is good at making things die.
-
If you die you are a martyr which is sometimes more influential than living
