I quite liked force awakens 8/10 . I think your standards are too high. It was not the best Star Wars film but it did a good job to introduce the new trilogy

That's most likely the case, I didn't dislike it at all till Rogue One came out. Also I was expecting A LOT since it had been over ten years since the second trilogy.
