How the actual f*ck are you supposed to stop yourself getting pushed around!?
So sick and tired of getting pushed and shoved by everyone else on the track, how the hell am I supposed to stop it? I try to stay ahead, but they always catch up, and when they do I'm shoved into an obstacle and they overtake me!

The first turns are always where you overtake people. Out of approx 15 races i have finished first in every one (except one where o hit everything in existence, died twice and still got 3rd). Learn to make those sharp turns and you will overtake everyone. Almost every race i win im leading by the first or second turn. And then thats it. Your side boosts are amazing. Best advice i can give: Any turn that has a boost gate just before the turn or during the turn you side boost into it. That will keep you from going wide.

Catch back up to everyone and before the game can reset your gates to the proper size for you position just use the part of the gate you know only you have and blow by everyone as they fight for smaller and smaller gates. The winner of the race rarely hits the most gates. Each map have 4 or 5 gates that are traps to hit and actually send you veering far off the perfect racing line which is tight to inside wall.

It's a function of the game mode.

Either get in first and stay there. Or sit back and let them all push each other around. Then overtake near the end

Get in first place and stay there. It's smooth sailing from there. Let the rest of the pack play all the bumper cars for the rest of the race. #profit

Side boost into them when you go by the forklift on earth. That'll teach em.

I think Variks once said it best with "Push them back" or something like that. Otherwise you just gotta deal with it and hope they hit a fan blade or a forklift so you can come out ahead in the end.

Go in with 6 people and just strategically complete all the quests bounties and the book super quick and easy

I stay back for the first two laps then the pack usually thins out and that's when you can try to move up. Having larger gates to hit helps.
