I would be beside myself if Yager (team behind Spec Ops: The Line) would make a similar game set in WWII.
Maybe from the perspective of the Waffen SS...? The Ustaše (perfect choice IMO)? Come on, at least the Finns?
• I dont know if this is a good idea with the SS (This bastards killed thousands of people for fun) But as a renegade who fights against that would be cool. Or maybe as a resistance fighter to show atleast that the many germans were people to ( not the -godwinslaw!--scum ) I say that as a german who hate what we have done to the world

 • The Waffen SS in fact had units from everywhere in Europe. There was a Muslim company from the Balkans, which had its own Imam and each platoon had its own Mullah. The indigenous Cossack people of Russia had an SS unit. There were also Scandinavian units, Spanish, Croatian, Romanian, Greek, Indian and French. Each of these groups fought alongside their German counterparts in coordinated movements, mostly on the Eastern front. Of course I'm aware of Nаzi stigma which was why I suggested the Croatian Ustaše instead, who were a similar force organized in their own country (which didn't exist until Italy and Germany helped them declare independence in 1941). They were a fascist nationalist unit which fought against the Soviets, local Communists, assorted partisans and the military of neighboring countries. The setting would be absolute chaos and perfect for an SO:TL style of gruesome, intense, and above all meaningful chronicle of violence that I'm sure the team behind Yager could handle properly.

 • Late war Waffen SS drew recruits from everywhere in Germany, or so I've been told. I could see a story about someone being drafted into it if that's the case.

 • He was by no means an idiot, why wouldn't he pull out all stops to keep his war going?
