Skill based matchmaking is ruining multiplayer. It gives you teammates 10 times worse than you while they give you the people on the other side the same skill level. How is that fair?

1 ReplySo what I'm getting here is you are the center of the universe and the 6 other people on the enemy team are soulless robots who don't matter... So let me explain if you are matched up against a team that's like the same skill level as you doesn't that mean it's working fine? Or are you blaming your teammates that are just as good if not better than you just because you lost? Pretty much what I'm saying is the game isn't trying to make YOU lose the matchmaking has the same system for anyone.
sry if I wrote anything wrong or didn't make my point I'm on mobile so....
1 ReplyI realize this post is about Destiny, but I find that playing multiplayer solo (or without any teamwork) is not fun regardless of the game. <Queue rant of people skipping as I try to revive them, or fellow medics leaving me to rot.>

There's nothing bad about SBMM in itself, but I have yet to actually see a good system that accurately places you in matches based alone on skill

1 ReplyEdited by Inflicte: 12/11/2016 9:05:20 PMI'll probably get burned at the stake for this one, but I think Overwatch's competitive matchmaking has improved in this regard in S3.

1 ReplySmite matchmaking in a -blam!-ing nut shell...
-
I play fps witha friend and we are constantly being put against full teams and always get casuals on our team its degrading watching all the time
-
1 ReplyThat isn't true for the other team. So you're 50% correct

3 RepliesEdited by bFLY: 12/11/2016 9:25:30 PMI thought I escaped this "sbmm vs cbmm" nonsense when I left the Destiny forums. This dead horse can't be beat anymore. I pretty much play matchmaking like halo exclusively solo. I enjoy it very much and I'm not half bad at halo, especially 5 and reach.

Not when your friends suck as well.

Single player games exist

4 RepliesMCC is the worst culprit for this. Since I have an absurdly high trueskill (or whatever 343 uses) in that game, the game compensates by putting LITERAL GARBAGE on my team and somewhat competent people on the opposition. The backpacking I've done in that game on occasions is diabolical.
-
4 RepliesI'm confused. Your title complains about solo play but your body compains about skill based matchmaking (which is designed to better prevent what you're talking about but ok).
-
Never bothers me. Even if I get bad teammates and we lose as long as I'm having fun I don't really care.
-
Especially in CSGO when you get idiot, mic-less teammates and smurfs on the opposite team
-
1 ReplyStar Wars Battlefront would prove you wrong. You never see all of the really good players on one team.
-
Not too shappy running solo id say
-
1 ReplyGit gud. If my younger sister and i can win 2v6 on on halo 3 btb valhalla then there is no excuse ;) if they have .5 kd looks like you gotta step up your kd to compensate.
-
1 ReplyTo most people it is. But for some reason I can play multiplayer by myself and find it entertaining.

If sbmm is implemented at the initial launch of the game, the sbmm is strong and accurate shortly into the games life, unless a ranking system is kinda falty. If sbmm is implemented a year after a game has been out for example, well inflated stats that are arbitrary numbers mess everything up. A game with shit balance for example, that had a guy who played hours upon hours with a broken weapon that hardly anyone else had could have fluffed up his/her stats, have a high kdr and win loss. So the game implements sbmm, the game attempts to be more balanced, all the while using that players numbers to place that player in a match, thinking that player is top tier, but alas...the god weapon is fixed. Bam. The player gets destroyed, you get upset, and a shitty game just got shittier if that's the case.

Edited by Solid Snake3324: 12/11/2016 7:22:36 AMI'm having a blast on Titanfall 2 but most of my 300+ friends don't play Tf2 -________ - & the other fact people don't play the objective & sucks .

Edited by Juice: 12/11/2016 3:28:06 AMThey don't have population to split playlists solo que and teams. That's why, the only other thing they can do is do team skill matchmaking like halo wars. Then if you were to be grouped against a team you maybe wouldn't get destroyed
Shit for some reason my topic got as confused this post, in case you didn't know I am talking about Halo 5
4 RepliesYou dont even know what you are talking about SBMM helps balance teams. It tries to ensure everyone in the match is relatively close in terms of skill. It doesnt pruposefully put you against strong teams or something unless you are a strong player too
-
That's literally impossible lmao.. that can't go for every single person in every match ever. It isn't as simple as some people try to make it.

It always feels like I'm being put on a shitty team with bad teammates, but that's not always the case. A lot of times my team is the one doing the wrecking, but those times are more fun, so they're overall less memorable when thinking about bad situations. In Rocket League, for instance, I play a lot of solo standard and about 50% of the time my team is just garbage, but the other 50% of the time we're winning 5-0. In BF1 it's the same thing, but I have the opportunity to switch teams when I'm tired of being the only one doing anything.
