Viggo is just an amazing person all around. He did all the riding in the movie as well. Hell of a cowboy. If you haven't watched hidalgo that's another great role he has played. He actually bought the horse that was "hidalgo" in the movie because he liked him so much.

I thought be bought the one from LotR? Maybe it's the same horse.

No hidalgo is a paint and aragorn's horse is a either a bay or a sorel can't really tell. But I think he may have bought it ass well. I imagine he easily has enough money to do that.
