I've printed some Destiny handcannons, too.
If we speak only of materials quantity, each one of them is between 400 to 600 grams.
1000 grams of plastic cost about $35.
The real deal is the time you spend to print it (roughly 40h), + the time you spend to papersand it, then paint it. It can rise the price to $150 to $200, maybe more if the post-prod job is pretty well done.
Honestly speaking, coupons are your friend. I have a Michael's craft store by me where I bought my airbrush and paints. I also use bondo spot putty and various sand papers. Then there's the big 3D Printer purchase, and plastic filament purchases. It gets pricey but balances out when you make more than one prop.
Very time consuming especially if you have a printer that doesn't fit the parts. Everything you split has to be filled and smoothed. Very time consuming.
