It's filler bs to save money on screen time for the better actors like Rick. It's way cheaper to show an hour of tara than it is Rick. That why we saw this shitty episode. All because the writers wanted to save a few bucks. They aren't the only ones either. More and more tv shows and movies are moving away from A listers and it's why our entertainment is going down the shitter.

I haven't read the comics, but this was straight out of it. As many have said, they shouldn't have made it a standalone episode but rather an episode that it cut to throughout the season. It was an especially poor delivery.
