Normally, I'd completely agree. But there are exceptions. I had a group that did fairly well through the whole raid, up until phase 2. The entire raid, JimmyBadKid was dragging down the team, literally the only one struggling. After the same guy causes 10 wipes in a row, it's time to call them out and kick them. No insult to the player or their skill, maybe it was an off day, but there's a time to call out bad people for being bad, and it's after they've wasted over an hour of everyone's time on the same checkpoint.

Well, if you repeat it 10 times in a row without chaing up anything regarding the different task of the group, then you're doing it wrong. Is he in the middle and always fails slamming Aksis / plate? Assing him to left. Is he failing with the task of a cannon guy / bomb thrower? Switch the task. If he still keeps failing, search for a pattern and try to find where his issue is. If none of the above works, tell him to go and practise in normale mode / strikes / patrol until he is capable of jumping or whatever the issue is. If you just kick someone you don't solve the problem, you just pass the problem to him / another group.

He stood five feet from Aksis without slamming. Multiple times. On different sides. After a bunch of explanation.

After a bunch of explanation I would tell him that raiding is not his thing and that aksis phase 2 is nothing where a team of 5 can carry another person without doing anything.
