Tie between Ace of Spades and TFC. Perfect tie. As a Warlock main who was previously a Hunter main (40+ days on Hunter, maybe 8 tops on my Warlock) I find myself wishing I could use AoS with my Lock.

  • Maverick and firefly, and an exotic hand cannon with a range perk? Too good to pass up. And don't get me started on that little flip..

  • That little flip is the reason I used last word for 2 years lol.

  • Ah, TLW. Remember when you could aim in and map people with that glorious full auto? Hah.

  • Lol remember the days when you could aim a hand cannon and it hit what what you were pointing at?

  • Damn man, I was stoked when I finally got the hopscotch I have now. Just looked at yours and it makes me want to throw mine away.

  • Yep, that'd be the one. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad jelly.

Sadly it's not that amazing right now because of the clever dragon and grasp of malok existing. I mean I can definitely get work done with it, but the rof disadvantage is ridiculous. Even with full auto on it a clever still puts more rounds out in a shorter amount of time.

  • Yeah, I hear ya. A buddy of mine has one similar to yours and we had the same conversation. We still use them in private games when we have "no meta guns" matches just because their still fun to use. I also had a damn near perfectly rolled spare change for the longest time, but I had to finally let it go this summer for vault space just because it's fire rate made it completely unusable.

  • I've loved pulses for a while now, but the fact you have so many of them and only 1 archetype is really viable? That's a problem.

Definitely. And unfortunately bungie is going to rectify that problem in the wrong way. Because that's what they do. Which is unfortunate because I've had to let go of so many excellent pulse rifles. The only 2 I've have left that aren't of the grasp type is my hunter's hopscotch and a nirwins mercy that I just couldn't give up on.

  • I use blind perdition pretty often and it's technically not that archetype, but it's the one that's really close and might as well be in it. I tried the parthian shot one day and despite being a higher impact pulse it preformed decently.

I guess I occasionally use a hawksaw, which isn't technically that archetype, so there's that too. I got a reflection sum from a bounty the last time I messed around with trials, but I don't like the roll they have and my hopscotch/nirwins is better all around so I won't ever use it. I haven't played well enough to get the current trials pulse but I'd like to try it out, as I've heard it's very reliable.

  • I never liked the reflection sum I've had a few. It's really weird and I can't describe why but it just isn't good. Honestly I wasn't a fan of any of the year 2 trials weapons they were all pretty bad. The year 3 ones all look really good though I'll say that much. I'm a sucker for the black and gold adept paint job.

  • Yeah, even scoring that "automatic win"-rolled doctrine was underwhelming in actual performance. I was excited to get the water star, but it was vaulted quickly. I've heard very good things about the y3 handcannon, pulse rifle, and fusion rifle. So I'm hoping to score those at some point. And I actually really like the new paint jobs. 😆

  • Pulse rifle is insane, hand cannon is decent, and the fusion is nothing compared to my saladins vigil but that's because the vigil is insanely good. The only weapons I wanted were the sniper and pulse, but I want the scout for raiding now. It looks good and 1 shots shanks.

  • Lol well it's hard to be better than saladin's. I just like a little variety to avoid getting stale. That's why I haven't used a thesan in months; got sick of it. Although, step 1 is git gud at trials haha.

  • As long as you gave a good team you'll be fine. It's more about team play and communication. I mean personally I have a lot of 1v1 skill, so in those situations I thrive but in teamfire fights I'll usually get annoyed.

  • Eh, teamwork/communication has never been my issue. Being consistent in my gun play has. I have a few good days and a lot of bad days. I was on a hot streak last night, even using non meta guns. I had probably the best game of control I've ever played, while using the First Curse. Even though we barely lost, I walked away from that game with an On the Bright Side, Objectively Correct, and a 3.43kd. And then there are plenty of games where I barely manage to scrape together a .3 😂

  • I have that issue sometimes. It's usually called being inconsistent, but in a game with as many variables as destiny it's hard to be consistent.

  • For me it's more about trying to control my panic fire/grenade/melee when I end up in any more than a 1v1, but yeah the inconsistencies within the game itself don't help any, haha.

  • I main a nightstalker and they're an extremely strong 1v1 gunfighting class when you learn to use them. I especially love when someone goes to shotgun rush me and I throw a smoke in their face and stop them in their tracks.

  • See I don't hardly use nightstalker in pvp because I'm not very good with it. I've been a gunslinger main from the start, but I'm trying to get better at the other subclasses. But I can not for the life of me get a handle on bladedancer. At all.
