NO OFFENSE INTENDED.
That being said, why do some gays do this? Obviously you can't answer if you're straight, but it's a bit of a pet peeve of mine. It's just unnecessary. No one really cares if you're attracted to the same sex. It's just irritating to be forced to listen to.

2 RepliesWhy do gays need to announce that they are gay every five minutes?
-
I honestly don't know. I personally don't have a particularly feminine voice, and I'm not camp either, but a number of my gay friends do have feminine voices.

1 ReplyEdited by Charlemagne: 11/18/2016 8:19:01 PMThis actually something I've discussed with people (edit: sociologists and psychologists, not just randoms). As you said yourself, only some have that accent. It's mainly due to socialisation with more culturally feminine things and people since masculine people often reject male homosexuals, even to violent and overly aggressive degrees. It's not a choice that they make. I've known gay men who've had one speech pattern with one set of people and another speech pattern with others. They don't always realise they switch since it's just how they are. In cases like that, it's still socialisation but more akin to an example like you talking to an authority figure and you talking to a friend. You might not realise it, but you do speak differently, with the words you say and how you articulate them.

1 ReplyI mean I'd have that type of voice if my butthole was penetrated by another man, it's simple your butt is connected to your voice box which is connect to your mouth, if you think I'm wrong prove it by explaining how if you eat some tacos they come right back out a couple hours after it's eaten. It's first grade spongebob

Edited by PD Enki: 11/18/2016 1:57:42 AMDunno, but me and my boyfriend both have very standard masculine tones of voice. And it's typically not a thing they do intentionally, it's just how they sound. For some gay men, their normal tone of voice is very feminine. Obviously people can alter the pitch of their voice, but this isn't generally what happens. If anything that's more of a trans thing. If you're hearing feminine-sounding gay men frequently enough to be significantly bothered by it, then I daresay you hang around gay men a rather interesting amount.

FLAME ON

2 RepliesI asked a gay friend of mine this and his response was that they're flaming -blam!-
-
8 RepliesYou're confusing the stereotype of androgyny for homosexuality. I know a gay man who looks and acts like the baddest biker mofo you ever met. I also know a very strait man who speaks with a lisp, sits with his legs crossed at the knees, and likes to drink appletinis.
-
It's a very easy stereotype to adopt
-
13 RepliesWhy are some people left handed?
-
Because one is always more masculine/feminine than the other.
-
1 ReplyDon't know.
-
Of the gay folks I know, only one speaks with a lisp. It's a stereotype.
-
Lack of testosterone=less "man" instinct/identity
-
Idk, but I know some gay males who are the manliest -blam!-ing guys I have ever met
-
Could be that some of them are playing up to cultural expectations. Another reason may be that, despite being attracted to men, they're still attracted to many of the same qualities in a partner that a straight man would; qualities that are commonly thought of as "feminine". As a result, they try to make themselves more attractive to others by emphasizing these qualities. Or maybe that's just how they are.

2 RepliesIt's not like people choose how their voice sounds...
-
You realize that was a stereotype meant to make homosexuals a joke, right?
-
1 ReplyThat's a "bottom".

1 ReplyOne of my step brothers is gay, loves dick, but acts like a man. The other step brother is straight (most of us think he is secretly gat) has very feminine qualities. He tries to talk with the pattern if a girl, he flaps his hand around like a ferret (nudge) and absolutely DOES NOT GET ALONG WITH MEN. He never had any guy friends. Just hung out with girls. Anyway yea thought my situation could shine some light. Here ya go.

Lol not to mention high pitched
-
Low testosterone
-
less common than you think
-
2 RepliesSee, OP, the issue is that you have really low testosterone. Get some shots and in a few months, hair will grow, your balls will actually fully drop and your voice won't sound like that
-
So you know there gay.
