Half a million people is less than 0.5% of the population. It's a negligible difference.

Half a million people is still a very large number of people, regardless of percentage. I couldn't care less if it was 50 people or 5 million, the candidate that receives the most votes should be elected. There needs to be other ways of giving candidates incentive to campaign in and give attention to rural areas.

If you look at the county by county map of the election 90% of it is red. Hillary got all those votes because she has the support of the most populated counties in the country. The electoral system is there to make the less populated states votes relevant so that an election cannot be decided by just a handful counties. The electoral system worked as it was intended . The founders..... how brilliant were they.

Obama won the popular vote twice. By several million more votes than who he was running against each time. Hillary only won the popular vote by a few hundred thousands. Speaks volumes about how the public feels about her.
