I've posted this a few times, but there are a few things Bungie could do (and not all of them are nerfs)... * Reduce base range * Make the damage fall off start sooner * Widen the blast cone on the shotgun * Increase sidearm damage * Increase autoriffle damage These would all allow close range single shot kills, but would add difficulty to rush shotgunning by either allowing people a bit more time to defend themselves, or do more damage to the rusher, making it easier to stop the rusher.
