We hardly ever got end strike specific loot pre-ROI. The drop rate for the keys is probably the same. The advantage is when your character is over 390 you can target a lower light piece of gear using a specific strike. I have gotten both a strike key and an exotic drop at the end of the same strike before.

I've found that if you have a drop in your inventory it will give you the alt drop. Ex. If you have mark of the undying mind in your inventory, you have a higher chance at getting imago loop. Also valus chest can only drop the trends upon stars.

Boots? Where do I get boots? There are no F*cking boots in the chests... 3oC and have 6 pairs of gloves, 3 helmets, some weapons but no boots...

Yup, no boots and no chests. Farm them exotic engrams. Run them raids. Jump on the side on Trials.

I had decent luck from nightfalls but definitely not regular strikes
