Ether Nova~ is amazing. I thought myself it was going to be horrible (judging by the archetype). I use it in Supremacy and oh my Last Word, I've actually mapped some people with it.

I think it is really good for pve. It's high rate of fire let's you kill stuff faster and that makes you able to charge your abilities faster.

I use Fusions all the time. Ether Nova~ on my hunter is great considering I don't have any Discipline for grenades. It's just an all round decent weapon.

Though I have to give telesto credit for getting me in to fusions, thesan has gotten me to stick with them. If you haven't yet, I'd strongly recommend the vigil if you can get one. It only charges a tiny hair slower than the thesan, but because of the static barrel options it rolls with it's a 4-bolt kill with near-vertical recoil and can roll with a nasty combination of range/stability perks. It's been the only fusion that's made me put the thesan down for a while.

My experimentation thus far has lead me to believe that there isn't really much of a "bad" perk combination for this gun. I have one on each character if you wish to get an idea of the possibilities. I've gotten plenty of ridiculous kills with any one of them.
