I too look for perks over-all. I can be T12 on all 3 subclasses of my hunter, for their PvE set-ups. All of the perks go perfectly with the weapons I use and my style of play. I can be T12 with my Bladedancer's PvP setup, if I use my MotTM, but that's my old setup. I now use Shinobu's Vow, so I need a new Int/Disc helmet with 1 more point of Disc to make it T12 again with my new setup. I only use helmets that have xtra super energy for grenade kills, and health/shield regen on orb pick-up. I have gauntlets for each primary type that are all T12 capable, so it just takes a little switching to change out weapons. For PvE I use snipers. For PvP, I use Shotguns. I have chests for each subclass with extra ammo for sniper and for shotgun, each with the correct elemental "armor boost". For boots, I keep boots with extra ammo for both Rocket Launchers and Machineguns. A set for speed boosts from elemental kills, and a set with speed boost for Zone Captures, since I play Control almost exclusively. I'm pretty picky when it comes to what I use gear wise. I prioritize perks over having a T12 setup, but I prioritize build/perks over looks. The look of my armor doesn't get me extra kills in PvP, or help out when I'm swarmed by ads. So, looks are basically useless to me. I just throw on the "Old Gaurd', or "Revenant' shaders, and it looks good with almost everything. Black goes with anything.That's as far as I go with the look of my character. I couldn't even tell you what 1 person I ever played with looked like. I really can't even what my own guardian looks like. Edit: I use cloaks that give you extra rank up experience for Vanguard and Crucible, depending on what I'm playing. I only keep T12 capable gear for everything. It took me a long time to hit T12, but it's because I'm so picky about it.
