What if the keys weren't a drop. What if there were "strike" bounties you could complete that rewarded you with a special type of strike currency as well as typical faction and vanguard rep. So you pick up the bounties, complete strikes, and when you have enough of the strike currency you can buy a key. Each bounty has different requirements and stuff, just like vanguard and crucible bounties.
For example, let's just name the currency something generic like "coins". So, a key costs 100 strike coins. You get 5 bounties to pick up, for stuff like, kill certain enemy types, or kill a certain amount of enemies, kill a certain boss, etc...tons of possibilities. Then, each bounty rewards u some coins depending on difficulty. Maybe 10 coins for a basic bounty, and 20 for a boss bounty. Something of that regard.
Also, the bounties can continually be picked up over and over after completing them, but each week the bounties change to different objectives.
I think this would be better, more fun and less frustrating than relying on RNG.

Yeah don't mind something like that at all. Just hopefully don't cap the number of keys you can grind per week etc
