I use plan c mostly and trespasser and still they can't counter shotguns as well as a shotgun can. They need to nerf the range and increase spread when sliding and things would be so much better. Instead you can slide around like a pussy sniping ppl with a gun that takes 0 skill to use. It makes trials retarded and not even worth playing.

Shotguns have been nerfed so many times. They dont need any more nerfs
-
Yeah they do. But only when midair and sliding just dial back the range and accuracy just a little.
-
Or just make shotguns 2 shot kills no matter the distance. So you'd at least have to shoot and melee to get the kill
-
Ah yes, please do that, it would be a buff and a nerf, I can no longer kill people when my shotgun is up their ass but when I'm a mile and a half away it takes 2 shots to kill em.
-
0 skill??? Why do I dominate my friends who mostly playe snipers when they run shotgun I clean them up. But that's just luck right
-
Because sniping and shotgunning, and any special for that matter, take different skill sets. Shotguns are really easy to use in this meta but I suck with them; this doesn't mean that they take massive amounts of skill, it just means that I'm not great with them. I'm better with fusions and with snipers because that's what I used in PvE all the way up until I got into PvP. Shotguns are hardly OP, but you can't disagree with the fact that they are by far the easiest special to use right now.
-
Apple's and oranges skill is skill. I will admit sniping is a different skill to shotgun cqc but one is not superior over the other. It's who's still standing at the end of the fight it's really that simple. I will also ad that the maps tend to cater to shotguns more than snipers and that needs to change
-
But what I'm saying is that there's no perspective. The top sniper in the world could be ass if you put a shotgun in his hands, and the top vooper could suck if you told him to snipe. Based on the perspective we have now, shotguns are the meta, and knowing this community, nothing becomes the meta without being easy to use. (Hence why Mida is so popular) Shotguns aren't ridiculously easy to use in that anyone can pick one up and wreck, but they're substantially easier than anything else right now. Snipers post-nerf are near-impossible to land headshots unless you get the first shot off (no complaint here, it was a good change), fusions deal with charge times and recoil and are not easy to pick up for the itchy trigger fingers out there, and sidearms deal with low magazines and being the only special unable to OHK. Shotguns benefit from overall weak primaries and overall fast movement speed, as well as not requiring head-shots for a OHK. Not OP, and not something the entire community can pick up and dominate with, but it's by a fairly large margin the best special right now.

It's also the most fun😃

I respectfully beg to differ, shotguns were the first special I used in PvP and all I got out of them were heart attacks. I prefer play with shotguns to play with snipers by a long-shot still; I had fun with Iron Banner for the first time in a long time this past event. I used to snipe but I switched to fusions for supremacy and I haven't switched back. Love vooping.
-
Lol yeah I recently tryed out NLB/sidearm combo on my hunter and it was pretty fun cutting down shotguners before they got to me. Much respect for fusions to
shotguns for life though
-
I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it but NLB was fun as hell to use as well. I really want to start practicing with it again.
-
Yeah that's why i started using it to improve my snipping. Getting airborne head shots makes feel a little bit dirty lol very satisfying
-
I just recently started using plan c. And boy does it counter shotguns! I pissed off so many shotgun rushers in a match of supremacy. I was dieing of laughter for like, 10 minuets.
-
Never thought about increasing spread when sliding. That's a great idea
-
It's kinda like the fact that their spread increases when you're in the air. It makes sense.
-
I second that. I had always thought to increase weapon-ready time after sliding, but this idea is better. Maybe shotguns can be the opposite of other weapons and have tighter spread when standing rather than crouched.
-
It's a great way to balance shotguns without killing them lol
