It's not a piece of gear for me personally, but just the knowledge that I'm one of the only people to consistently (and effectively) run Bladedancer in high level PvE activities. It's pretty sad that one of the most fun and exciting subclasses gets some of the least usage in PvE.

In PvP or PvE? Really it just comes down to practice and experience. I've played as a Bladedancer since release so I know it inside and out. Give it a try and just mess around in patrol, that's how i improved my gun skills, and tweaked my PvE builds.
