You mention "forcing a glitch" to get rid of the sparks. What is it?
The only method I can think of is to (repeatedly) rip a character (and I have too much invested in mine to do so). I do not need anything for these, I just want to get rid of them. If Bungie added a new use, as you suggest, that would be great. But right now, I need the vault space so they have to go.

I don't know of a specific glitch, I've just heard rumors about people losing items when transferring them via the app with a buggy connection.
