Ok so I'm not hating on your post. I'm simply giving an opinion. Take it or leave it.
My son had had all of his vaccines and I'm glad that he had HOWEVER.
He also has juvenile diabetes (and not because he's FAT. That child doesn't have an ounce of fat on him, he is 5,5 and weighs 130 pounds) he had also not been exposed to large amounts of sugar. He was diagnosed at the age of 7. They told me that his immune system went haywire during an unknown viral infection (common cold) and his immune system attacked his pancreas (the thing that gives us insulin and keeps us from being diabetic) So basically his body killed off his pancreas.
I'm not saying immunizations are bad. But I do think they are hurting our children in a way that their own bodies can't cope and are making either to much or to little of what we need to fight off infection. I just think we give them to many to quickly and it's causing an issue over time. Some parents are sheltering their kids and not allowing their bodies to learn how to fight off something as simple as the common cold.
Let them play in the dirt and with other kids. Let their bodies learn how to fight. For sure get the vaccines but I think they need to look into the problem at a base level. Diabetes isn't the only one our kids are being struck with. Lupus, autism, and adhd. Any immunodeficiency based illness or disease.

5'5 and 130 is heavy
-
The ideal weight for a male at 5 foot 7 inches is 133-168 pounds.... he's not heavy by any stretch of the imagination
-
I asked him and he's 5,7. I'm 5 foot so I'm short and I wasn't sure what his height was at his last Dr appointment. He wears a pants size 29, how can you say that he's heavy?? Are you serious?

That's what we call natural selection fam.
-
It seems vaccines are only hurting your child.
-
Ah yes, injecting a dead microorganism into ourselves for the purpose of our own safety is harmful. Tell me more.
-
There's absolutely no link between the vaccines and type 1 diabetes bud.
-
Your son has Type 1 diabetes, yes it is an autoimmune disease where the body attacks it's own pancreas, but this is in no way correlated to vaccinations. Your son could have had a genetic predisposition for autoimmune disorders, again having nothing to do with vaccinations.
-
I share your opinion to an extent. Everyone should be vaccinated, but there's a line. Ensure that you vaccinate against the more deadly diseases, but not against the weak ones like the common cold and even the flu (unless your body can't handle the flu.) Then, if you do get one of these illnesses, just isolate yourself and let it run it's course. It's sort of like a live fire training round for your immune system.
-
Was there any proof linking any of the vaccines to your child's diabetes?
-
I don't know if it's been investigated. It wasn't with my son personally. What I was saying is in the last 15 years or so more children are being diagnosed with hyperactive immune systems leading to things such as diabetes and lupus
-
Well I'm no doctor but I would say the reason for the diabetics is because Americans are fat and lazy. I should know, I'm one of them.
-
That's an old stereotype. Not really true
-
Well we are 10th! http://gazettereview.com/2016/06/top-10-fattest-countries-in-world/
-
Well that's just rude... did you read any of the other comments. My son is 5,7 and 130 pounds. He's skinny as a rail. He's always been skinny. He isn't lazy, it wasn't genetic. Thank you very much for assuming that juvenile diabetes is always caused by diet and exercise. IT ISNT. Juvenile diabetes isn't the same as late on set adult diabetes. I get it you said you're one of them meaning that you put yourself down as well. But it also tells me you're uneducated when it comes to kids having diabetes. And yeah it bugged me a little that you assumed my kid was fat and lazy. He isn't. It wasn't a weight issue. The Doctors said it was caused by hyperactive immune system
-
I did not say kids or even your kid. I said Americans.
-
Yeah, it's the best thing to let them be exposed to pathogens, because they build anti-bodies by doing that. What vaccines do, is exposing them to mortal diseases at a safe level. So that way, they build defenses. I have all of my vaccines in time, and I played a lot of time in dirt and stuff like that when I was younger, the most I have got in my 14 years of life is a common cold every now and then. So yeah, I think kids should be vaccinated (is it said like that?), but they should be exposed to pathogens too.
-
Be careful posting your age on internet forums someone might try to take advantage of that fact. Yes kids should be exposed to all sorts of things. And yes kids should be vaccinated. They have a new vaccine for Chickenpox a lot of parents instead of getting their kids the vaccine are having parties called chicken pox parties one kid in the group and ends up with chicken pox and all of the parents get together and put their kids together in a room and give them all chicken pox to keep from giving them the vaccine because there's been some negative outcomes with that particular vaccine. Most vaccines are there so that kids can play in the dirt and go to public school and the parents don't have to worry that their kids are going to end up with some horrible illness. In my son's case with his overactive immune system causing him to end up with diabetes I wonder what are vaccinations are doing to our children at a base level. However I do feel that the illnesses that they are being vaccinated for are much worse and could possibly kill. However diabetes can also kill. All I want to know is whether or not there is a link to a certain vaccination and children ending up with hyperactive immune systems. I think it's very serious and should be looked into. I appreciate the fact that at such a young age you take a topic like this so seriously. It goes to show that are you are not quite as entitled as most people think
-
Well, I don't care if people over here try to take advantage of me. I don't really care what they think about me. There have probably been studies, but I have never seen one linking diabetes and vaccines. And thank you for that.
-
For someone who supports vaccination you sure parrot a lot of anti-vax talking points. You do get that there is literally no connection or even really a plausible correlation between vaccinations and things like autism right?
-
I wasn't saying we should end vaccinations I wouldn't want my kid to end up with measles mumps or rubella. I know that there has been no direct correlation for autism. But I also feel that it needs to be looked at more closely. I'm not saying don't protect your kids. I'm saying that maybe we should look at little closer at what the negative impacts could be and see if we could do better. Make a better vaccine. I hate the fact that my kid has diabetes. I wish with every fiber of my being that I could take it from him and be the one who has to poke myself and stick a darn needle in my stomach 4 times a day. It's frustrating as a parent knowing that there wasn't anything I could have done to prevent him from getting diabetes. It isn't hereditary no one in his bloodline has ever had diabetes, it isn't a weight problem. So we had no warning. I'm a CNA and my mom's a nurse we know how people get diabetes. No one ever warned me that my kid could just get it for no real reason at all. And more and more kids are showing up diabetic in the last 15 years. I'm not telling anyone to avoid vaccines. I'm saying that we need to look closer and see what is causing this to happen. What is it that is making their immune systems go nuts and attack either their pancreas or their lymphatic systems or their brains. Why are their bodies hurting them so much. That's all. If I've offended anyone with my comments I'm sorry. I'm not on a witch hunt. I just wish we knew more. Had more information.

>implying that we don't constantly look at the side effects >implying vaccines aren't constantly looked at for ways to improve them People have and are looking at them every which way in order to improve them. And I'm sorry to hear about your son but I honestly don't see how's that even relevant. You said it yourself that it was a weird infection that caused it. Plus the overall rise in diabetes rates is due to the obesity rates today. And what I was saying before was that after that bs study came out linking vaccines and autism it was externally throughly studied to make sure that even though that guys results were faked that there wasn't a hint of truth to them. They found nothing. Not even a raise in the rates between the groups to suggest that something was happening. They aren't going to keep spending time and resources on something that for all intensive purposes is a done deal

Edited by Selah Stone: 10/2/2016 4:01:22 PMNo not weird infection Common cold It's what they call a virus of unknown origin. In other words it wasn't a killer virus or one that would hurt him... it was a simple common cold. He was never obese and I was saying our skinny kids are getting diabetes the same way as my son. It isn't about weight. It isn't some crazy super flu that makes them sick. It's the sniffles or a simple stomach bug and their immune system goes into hyper drive. WHY. That's what I'm asking. It wasn't just my son. It isn't just kids. I know of two adults over the age of 40 that developed diabetes the same way. Over active immune system. I'm not parroting anything. I've felt this way since he was diagnosed. I feel as if something is going wrong with the health of our children. Their immune systems are unable to do what needs to be done. Or they do it too well and cause issues such as diabetes and lupus. With Lupus the immune system attacks the lymphatic system. I misspoke with autism. I've never read any study on that particular infliction. Immunize your kids. It's the right thing to do. I'd just like more answers on why they end up with hyperactive immune systems
