Never gonna happen. If you can't manage to time your evades properly, or stay aware enough of your surrounding to have a quick escape route, I recommend practicing more.
Edit: I see now by looking at your stats that you were carried through Trials of Osiris, which serves to confirm my theory that you probably could use some practice with situational awareness, survivability and evasion.

It doesnt have directional control it is shorter distance wise then a shadestep too with shadestep you can run through a doorway, see a sniper or something and shadestep back then turn and go around the corner. With the garrison you need to jump then you just go straight back and the only thing that made it good was it could go back then to ghe side covering the distance of a shadestep in two bursts
