>this thread Now while I agree that we should work to be better people, more sympathetic and altruistic, hypocritically demeaning any and all notions of conformity is how you invite separatism and pessimism, rather than unity and optimism. You've disregarded the function of entertainment, and instead asserted it as distraction, which is laughably ironic to be doing so on a video game forum. What have you contributed to society in writing this? You are lazy and useless, you shouldn't have a pass time, you monster. Do you see how this logic seems silly when you point the gun towards yourself, rather than other people? It's better to not criticize the success of others, and rather, work towards succeeding yourself. Sitting back and complaining about things will never change them. You have to be the change you want to see in the world. Kim Kardashian went from organizing closets to being the most recognizable figure in pop-culture today. Hate on it if you want, she'll keep making millions of dollars, and you won't.

 • Thank you for youe contribution. While I do respect a few business aspects of Kim Kardashian, the immortalization is ludicrous. People act like shes a deity. And she started out rich as it was. True, she's expanded her wealth, but so did Donald trump. And he looked at $1mil as a small loan.

 • She is a social media God. It's kind of hard to deny. With 83.6 million Instagram followers, she can connect to a broader population of people that many other forms of media. She may have started out wealthy, but being wealthy doesn't translate to the influence that the Kardashians have now. They could literally upload a picture and make news headlines. That doesn't represent a fault in society, that represents how connected we are now, and how people like the Kardashians are ushering in a new era of pop-culture which is based online.
And he looked at $1mil as a small loan.
Let's be honest, $1 million in California is small, especially when it comes to real estate. It's even less in New York.

 • You can buy a house for cash and still have enough to sustain a family for years.
You can buy a house for cash and still have enough to sustain a family for years.
Lol, where did I say you can buy a house for cash and have enough to sustain a family? I'm talking about real estate prices, not cost of living to sustain a family. You live in California. Are you unaware of real estate prices, or have you just not looked because you aren't financially ready to make that leap? In California, $1 million is considered "small" for real estate. That amount is even less in New York.

 • Funny, you must be looking at san fransisco. Here in San Diego. A four bedroom 2 bath 1 story house in an above average neighborhood will be about 500k. Now if you're talking the la Jolla area, then I'm sorry to say that most people aren't Movie stars or athletes, so most people don't live there.

It's also become a Liberal shithole with significantly rising crime - not exactly somewhere worth living, which is why I just moved from there. But no, I'm talking about cities in California actually worth living in, such as Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Danville and San Ramon in the SF East Bay. I don't consider San Diego somewhere worth living. Especially since there was a shooting less than 12 hours ago.

 • Your post may seem idealistic at first glance (and maybe it is), but you're definitely right on point here. Good post is good, Cellar Door.
Don't let it get to your head.
• I would consider myself an idealist. Being realistic is the most common path to mediocrity. That being said, its simply ignorant to assume that an ideal means anything unless you force it into action. Personally, I plan on dying a billionaire and a Nobel Laureate, preferably more than one time over. These are completely idealistic goals, that I've been laughed at for setting for myself, however I'll accomplish them by putting more work towards my goals than anyone else. At the end of the day, when I've done what I plan to, what will laughing at those goals have done for anyone?
