The problem with your logic is you believed Bungie.
Bungie did not nerf ammo for PVP.
Oh... they claimed that's why, but believe me, the motivation was to continue to lengthen PVE encounters.
No one I know would say Destiny is "hard", they'd say it's grindy or tedious, but not really that hard.
So, Bungie thinks, "Lets up the difficulty... but how do we do that while still being lazy? Oh! Let's artificially increase difficulty, let's take away stuff!"
So, in the end, we see Bungie's vision for Destiny with nerfs instead of buffs, less ammo instead of more, longer cooldowns to supers, no more ice breaker, nerfs to subclasses, nerfs to everything.
This is going to sound like an innuendo but follow me for a second:
Longer does not mean harder, it just means it's more tedious.
Elemental primaries is a perfect example.
This is a philosophical issue at its core, does the Destiny player base think Destiny is a hard game, or do they measure Destiny's "Difficulty" by the amount of time it takes to complete an activity?
The ammo nerf is symptomatic of a more systemic issue:
Bungie is lazy and greedy.
They do not want to put the time, money, and creativity into making Destiny 1 better.
True story.

There is of course more ammo now, just less carry capacity. There's only less ammo if you camp in a corner with a sniper rifle. Break out a fusion, they don't run out.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Especially since RoI dropped and I've been farming Heroic Strikes. Solo queuing into Heroic Strikes is guaranteed to place you in groups with incompetent people. Some strikes can take up to 30 mins if people drop out or idiots get you wiped. The longest strike I was in lasted a little over a half hour because some scumbag kept trying to cheese it and died in the process multiple times. At the end of it I got 2 blue engrams both useless. Not to mention that being like the 8th strike in a row with no legendaries or skeleton keys. I think the time sink that strikes are does not equal the reward from them. Personally I'd rather sweat my butt off in a hard strike for 8-10 minutes and get something useful than take it easy for 20 mins and get some weapon parts and glimmer.

Well said, Sir!! SUPER BUMP this!!

When you make claims that Bungie is artificially extending the grind you get lots of "likes." But when I do it, I'm called names and told to "evolve and adapt." Which is ironic coming from PvP fanboys.
-
Yes. Bungie desperately needs to learn the difference between "difficult" and "tedious".

Edited by HalfY: 9/27/2016 11:38:16 AMSo much truth here!!! Also some of the reasoning elemental primaries were removed too. It wasn't because of the "lack of variety", it because we were getting through encounters too quickly

Agreed.
-
This is exactly why you can still body shot someone with a sniper and then whip out a primary weapon and one shot them.
-
Lotta truth in this. Bump.

Good thoughts. I can't pick any holes in them.
