Gambling is wagering money or something of value with the hopeful end result being more of that thing, but the knowledge that you might not get it (obviously paraphrased definition is obvious). In other words, there is no guarantee. The only thing that you're wagering in Destiny and it's loot system is time, and in time, you'll have a positive result. That's a guarantee in an RNG based loot system. How is that not grinding again? You could always...I don't know...stop playing Destiny, too, I guess.

  •
How is that not grinding again?
I already explained that, grinding is ALWAYS progress, not matter how slow, it is progress. Destiny's loot system is not always progress and that is why it is not. So imagine a bag filled with raffle tickets and the winning number is 200 but there are 200 tickets in the bag, 1-200. Now in a grind situation you would pull a ticket from the bag, if it is 200 you win but if not you throw the number in the bin and now there are 199 tickets in the bag so you have progressed. In Destiny you don't throw the ticket in the bin but put it back in the bag and take you chance again.

  • So then your complaint is against RNG based loot systems in general? Not just Destiny's? And again, even in RNG based systems you're only investing time and you are guaranteed a positive result (albeit there will be variations to time invested from player to player). You WILL get something in the long run. Gambling is not a guarantee. As they say, the house always wins. I could work for the next week for $1000 and I know it'll be there in a week (hence the phrase "the daily grind"). Someone could work for half that time for the same amount, others may have to work double or triple that time for the same result, but the end result is a guarantee. All individuals could attempt to get the same $1000 from an instant win scratch off. They might win, they might not, but there is no guarantee that at the end they'll have the $1000. I've said my peace, and I'm not going to continue to argue.

But you do not know it'll be there in a week with Destiny. That's the clear difference. You could work that month and get paid sod all. There is no guarantee. Stop pretending there is. You are just lying.
I've said my peace, and I'm not going to continue to argue.
One of those types.

  •
One of those types.
The same could be said about your petty attempt. Grow up.

  •
Grow up.
That's funny after your, "I'm not allowing you to debate anymore because I don't want to admit I'm wrong." If you don't want to carry on don't but saying guaranteed in relation to Destiny's loot system is a falsehood. You cannot tell others to grow up when you resort to lying.
