Any idea the best level for farming credits? I searched online, but they were all from 3 years ago

Not really... Your best bet is continuously fighting in PvP matches and gaining rewards. To start off, purchase a money pack. If not possible, then I dunno what you can do.

Yeah, I'm not a pay-to-play gamer. I've been farming stage 39 but not sure if another Stage is better

The best stage is the highest one you're on but those are harder because of the AI's. It all depends on how quickly you want money I bought the cheapest pack in order to help me get started on stuff and I bought an arse-load of energy to farm. It's easy to lose your spot as a top player in PvP.
