I really want this game, but the reviews throw me off. I basically want to know how long it will last. I've heard the game becomes repetition combat for the most part. I want to know if it's worth buying basically.

This is a game that reviewers already want to hate. I'm pleasantly surprised cool story fun gameplay. Great characters. Loving t so far it's a huge game. If you were to blast through the campaign 12-15 hours however exploring and finding secrets it's a good 40 hr adventure well worth the 40$. I would've bought it at 60$

The game will take you anywhere around 12-15 hours to complete and that's great for a singleplayer title. The combat isn't so much the repetitive bit but rather the backtracking aspects. However, there is something in this that Metroid Prime didn't have: a fast travel system.

Sounds nice. I usually have money but I just spent $1700 on a new tv. My game selection is very limited at the moment. I want it, but was expecting much better news about it.

IGN gave the game a 7.3 and I think Metacritic gave it 67%. Overall the game is how I described it, a throwback formula to the hay days of 6th gen 3D platformers coupled with modern visuals. If you truly want the best visuals you can get, pick up a PC copy. If you'd like an Xbox copy instead, that's fine by me, the price tag is still $40 any way for a solid 12-15 hours of gameplay.
