You gotta love how people used to cry for private matches
Now I guess the "majority of players" couldn't give 2 shits about them. Well majority, go fu[b]ck[/b] yourself. We wanted private matches since the beginning and bungie listened to us. Bungie always listens to us, but you're a bunch of sheep. We wanted a gjallarhorn sparrow, we got it. We wanted an exotic strangers rifle; we got it. We wanted a horde mode; we got it ( PoE ). We wanted an exotic kvostov; we got it. We wanted weapon skins; we got it. I can't comprehend how much this community complains. Get the stick out of your ass people. Bungie still loves us.
Everyone has been commenting "But OP what about important things like servers?" And the answer to that is easy. The game is from 2014 guys, it's pretty -blam!-ing old ( game wise ). The servers aren't gonna be the best, and Bungie can't update them without using a whole new net code. Just wait until destiny 2 and Bungie will more than likely implement dedicated servers; just to keep with the times. The next thing being that "SBMM is horrible, why don't they fix that?" And I too agree with this. However, players should still have the option to do skill based matchmaking. Thanks for the support and for the critiquing.

2 RepliesIt's hit and miss. I played 5v5 elim for about 8 hours straight and it was fun as hell. At the same time I played public control for about 6 hours today farming exotics and crucible rep. Think the private matches are quite good for clans or people with bigger friend groups. Either way I doubt they will see a huge amount of use until a few weeks after rise of iron. Everyone seems to be gearing up for the dlc, which you can't really do through private matches.

It was actually for custom matches so Bungie's only half way there. Hopefully true custom matches will come with destiny 2

Well people wanted custom matches which are now private matches due to lack of options. So they really only partially listened, but yea there's a lot of whining. Whining that has been voluminous enough to bring about change for the better. Positive criticism, entitlement, whining, complaining, whatever you call it actually does contribute greatly to seeing useful features, bug fixes, and all sorts of ideas in the game that may not otherwise. Plus, you're just whining. You aren't actually trying to affect positive change for the game. This is the worst kind of use of the forum.

TBH, I wrote up a very similar concept for that exotic Khvostov last year. Doesn't really bother me though. It feels like there's going to be a gun I specifically requested in the game!

I never cared about private matches and I don't have lag in crucible all I want from bungie is more pve content that is actually difficult. Trials is the peak of pvp and is super hard (ive never been flawless) I want something of equal difficulty for pve. The raid is so easy so it doesn't really count the closest thing to that level of difficulty was flawless raider but it is a joke to get on crota

No they cried for custom Matches. I mean I don't really care for them. But, ppl are already crying about how they want more like bots and super settings. I mean for one be happy we got something and two. It's called "private matches" and not "custom matches" for a reasons.

Private matches would have been great a year or so ago when I had 20+ people on my friends list playing regularly. Now? We wouldn't have enough for 3v3s. People complaining are dumb. Yeah it should have been in the game a looong time ago, but complaining now that they have added them in isn't going to help improve the game.
